Mark your calendars because an incredible opportunity awaits! We’re thrilled to announce Shaare Torah’s Annual Mitzvah Day, on Sunday, March 30th, 2025. Join us for a day filled with giving back to our community and embracing the spirit of togetherness alongside our family & friends.

Collections: Starting on Monday, March 24th, bins will be in the lobby for you to drop off items for various collections, giving you the opportunity to spread kindness and bring positive change to our community!

Maternal Care Center at Shady Grove Adventist: Give the gift of hope to tiny warriors by donating baby and maternity items to the Maternal Care Center at Shady Grove Hospital on Mitzvah Day! Most needed items: Newborn-9 months clothing (boy and girl clothing), Socks, Blankets, Swaddles, Hats, Baby carriers, Baby seats, Nursing pillows. Bring your items in by 3/30.

MCPS Title 1 School Snack Pantry Collection: Going on a Costco run? Grab some extra healthy snacks to help fuel student success! Your donation supports the well-being and academic achievement of students in need, ensuring they stay focused, energized, and ready to learn. Bring your shelf-stable snacks in by 3/30 and make a real difference!

Important Reminders for Mitzvah Day 2025:

• Limited Spots: Act quickly to secure your spot as space is limited at each location.
• Supervision: Children and teens MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian unless working as one of our Madrichim (teen helpers), who will be paired with an adult team captain.
• Age Requirements: Some locations may have specific age requirements, but don’t worry, there’s something for everyone!
• No Religious School: This event replaces religious school classes for the day and is an integral part of our hands-on curriculum.
• Materials Provided: We’ll supply all the necessary materials for your chosen activity, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all.
• SSL Hours: Students 6th grade and older can earn SSL hours—contact Leah Miller for assistance with your SSL form.

We’ll be sending out detailed instructions to all participating families a few days before the event, so keep an eye on your inbox for updates from Leah Miller.
